Inbred Mice

Origin:
The inbred strain of C57BL mice was created in 1921 by C. C. Little at the Bussey Institute for Research in Applied Biology. The Jackson Laboratory introduced the C57BL/6 mice in 1948, named C57BL/6J. The NIH introduced the C57BL/6 mice in 1951, named C57BL/6N. We introduced the C57BL mice from the National Rodent Seeds Center, Shanghai sub-center

Features:

(1)   Low incidence of breast cancer, eye defect, radiation resistant

(2)   Sensitive to tuberculosis bacillus, sensitive to pertussis susceptible factors

(3)   High production of interferon
